Rogério Fernandes Ferreira asks for the agreement of the parties in the fiscal issues

During the event of the Fórum Económico do Funchal, Rogério Fernandes Ferreira have also referred that the decision of the European Parliament about deciding the matters by qualified majority vote will impair the smaller countries.

The former Secretary of State for Tax Affairs Rogério Fernandes Ferreira have defended a necessity of the agreement between different parties in the fundamental issues at tax and fiscal matters during the Fórum Económico do Funchal, which is organized by Jornal Económico/Económico Madeira and the Municipal Council of Funchal and is taking place at Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias.  

Rogério Fernandes Ferreira, keynote speaker at the Fórum Económico do Funchal, have also noticed that there is a necessity to have dealings about fiscal instruments which Portugal has, but also referred that it was not possible yet to have parties’ agreement.

The former Secretary of State for Tax Affairs have also underlined that the decision of the European Parliament about the new process of voting by qualified majority in the matter of tax issues (instead of unanimity), will damage the smaller countries (comparing with the bigger ones).

“I think that this decision is justified in some matters but not in all of them. The smaller countries have less mechanisms to compete with others, on its’ own”, underlines.
